Trivial Facts:
- The contest became officially sanctioned by the U.S. Trivia Association.
- There were over 500 participants, 445 questions, and 33 teams.
- Scores were tabulated with a computer, an Apple II, for the first time.
- KVSC volunteers answered over 52,000 phone calls over the course of the weekend.
- One woman called in, even though she wasn't registered in the contest, to answer a question just because she knew it.
- Teams were restricted to 10 members.
