Trivial Facts:

  • The contest became officially sanctioned by the U.S. Trivia Association.
  • There were over 500 participants, 445 questions, and 33 teams.
  • Scores were tabulated with a computer, an Apple II, for the first time.
  • KVSC volunteers answered over 52,000 phone calls over the course of the weekend.
  • One woman called in, even though she wasn't registered in the contest, to answer a question just because she knew it.
  • Teams were restricted to 10 members.
