1869
A former hotel purchased by the state of Minnesota in the summer of 1869, Stearns House served as the first home of the Third State Normal School. Three and a half stories tall, the first floor contained classrooms, the second floor was home to the model school and library, the third floor had rooms for female boarders, and the half floor above was an attic.
Stearns House was the only campus building from 1869 to 1874.
