• Only in its second year, the contest, according to the St. Cloud Times, was "showing signs of becoming an SCSU tradition akin to snatching the Atwood Center's Christmas tree every year."
• The station used the contest to raise enough money to match a federal grant that would pay for a power increase to boost the coverage area.
• Special hour-long trivia round-up questions were scavenger-like and could only be answered by actually going outside and gathering the information.
• Trivia Weekend organizer Mike McMenamin had to ask some teams to clean up their names because they couldn't be said on the radio.
