An International Campus

$280 Collected in Razack Tag Day – February 9, 1951

International students are an integral part of St. Cloud State’s student population.

Nigerian Razack Danmole’s story demonstrates the motivation of international students to attend here. After Danmole wrote a letter to President John Headley in 1950, the student International Club sponsored him to attend St. Cloud State.

February 9, 1951

Danmole began his trip in Nigeria in November 1950 and arrived in early January 1951. He traveled 8,000 miles over 48 days. He graduated in July 1952 and then attended the University of Minnesota to become a dentist. Danmole later opened his dental practice in Los Angeles.

Since the 1970s, the number of international students has dramatically increased. With their presence, all students can interact with people from other cultures, be exposed to new perspectives, and learn different languages without traveling abroad. International students learn about American culture, participate in different campus activities, and receive an education.
